I have a 14 year mix and the vet has advised me to feed her a low salt dog food. How much salt is in your dog food?

I see that Purina ONE is higher in protein than the brand I am currently feeding my senior dog, but I am confused. I understand that too much protein is hard on a dog's kidneys. I want to feed her what's best for her health, and I like that the first ingredients in Purina ONE seem much better than the brand we are using. My question is how do I know which is actually best for her? How much protein is too much? Thank you!
